BKSP champion in 20th National Youth Cricket |

Dhaka Feb 9 (UNB) – Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan (BKSP) lifted the title of the 20th National Youth Cricket Championship beating Chittagong DSA by three wickets in the final at Thakurgaon today. A polish 61-run innings by Nasiruddin Faruque shaped the victory of BKSP boys to reach the target making 173 runs for seven wickets with five balls to spare, in reply to Chittagong’s 170 runs. While chasing the moderate target BKSP made bad start losing three wickets at 49 runs but a 87-run fourth wicket partnership between Farid and Faruque helped the academy team clinch the desired victory. Number four batsman Farid made 30 runs off 103 balls with two hits across the rope while Faruque contributed 61 off 83 deliveries that featured five boundaries and a over boundary. He was adjudged man of the final. Razzak, batted at number six, was another notable scorer making unbeaten 24 runs off 29 deliveries with two hits to the fence. Monu and Arafat took two wickets each for 20 and 22 runs respectively. Earlier, Chittagong District Sports Association scored 170 runs for all in 49.4 overs after deciding to bat first. One down Rabbi was the top scorer for the port district team making 48 runs off 112 balls with five boundaries while opener Nazim added 37 runs off 62 balls with six fours and a six. Razzak was the most successful bowler for BKSP claiming three wickets for 29 runs while Obaidur took two for 18 runs.
